Heading to Ocean Colour Scene or Tony Hadley at Caerphilly Castle this weekend? Here is what you need to know

SO TRUE: Caerphilly Castle is getting ready to welcome Ocean Colour Scene and Tony Hadley

Britpop band Ocean Colour Scene and Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley are getting ready for their two respective concerts at Caerphilly Castle this weekend.

In what will be the first gigs of their kind at the 13th Century Grade I listed castle, Ocean Colour Scene will be marking the 20th anniversary of the release of their Moseley Shoals album by performing it live on Saturday September 17.

On Sunday, Tony Hadley, front man of iconic British legends Spandau Ballet, will close the weekend of concerts within the inner walls of the castle.

Promoters Orchard Entertainment have issued this advice to concert goers:

Running Orders
Saturday

5pm – Gates Open
The Hearts
Ocean Colour Scene
Curfew: 10pm

Sunday
5pm – Gates Open
Big Mac’s Wholly Soul Band
Tony Hadley
Curfew: 10pm

The Box Office
This will open from 4pm on the day of the event. Outside the front entrance of the Castle.

Prior to the Box Office opening, tickets will still be available online at www.orchardentertainment.co.uk.

Dos and don’ts
Do enjoy!
Do hashtag #OCSCAERPHILLYCASTLE #THADLEYCAERPHILLYCASTLE
Do keep your ticket with you at all times.
Do arrive at the castle in good time prior to the start of the concert.
Do bring weather proof clothing.
Do put any rubbish in the bins provided for you.
Do look for official vendors and concessions stalls.
Do avoid unlicensed traders outside the grounds.
Do allow ample time for your journey.

Dont’s
Do not arrive with any form of audio or visual recording equipment.
Do not put up umbrellas during the concert performance.
Do not bring dogs to the event (with the exception of assistance dogs).
Do not leave valuables on display in your vehicle.
Do not bring any type of furniture.
Do not bring any food or drink with you.

Car Parking and transport
There are local car parks situated around Caerphilly. Signage will be in place for directions. There are no road closures planned for this event.

Seating
This is not a seated concert.
Concert-goers are not permitted to bring camping furniture / deck chairs.

Accessibility
The event takes place on grass; friendly stewards, accessible toilets plus a disability viewing area are available. The castle is suitable for wheelchair users with assistance.

Weather
The concert will not be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.

Please bring clothing appropriate to the expected weather conditions. In consideration of other concert goers, umbrellas and gazebos should not be used.

Refreshments
A range of catering, offering a variety of food and drink will be available within the event arena from the time the gates open.

Toilets
Standard and accessible toilet facilities are located throughout the event arena.

    I despair at the one particular DON’T – DO NOT BRING ANY FOOD AND DRINK WITH YOU. If you are wanting food and drink then there will be out of town bloodsucking greedy burger vans and drinks wagons brought in charging extortionate prices, any food and drink found on people will most likely be confiscated forcing those attending who have already paid a lot of money for a ticket to fork out even more for overpriced food and drink once inside the perimeter fence, a disgraceful way to treat people who are out enjoying themselves.
