Islwyn MP Chris Evans has said hate crime has no place in Wales.
Mr Evans made the comment during Hate Crime Awareness week.
Hate crime is classed an illegal act of hostility towards someone because of who or what they represent.
Mr Evans said: “Wales is a beautiful country, with a strong and friendly society. Yet over the past few months, for various reasons, incidents of hate crime have been on the increase. Each and every one of us has a duty to act wherever we see it.
“Hate crimes have no place in Wales. It is not part of who we are as a civilised nation.”
There is no such thing as hate crime.
Yes I agree, if a white man burgles the home of an Islamic person is that a hate crime and if it’s the other way around is it still a hate crime, if the law charges everybody who says not nice things about another person then places like football stadiums would be half empty every game. This is simply the P.C brigade being limp again, next we’ll have ‘thought crime’. If one person vicously abuses another in a public place then that is surely a public order offence whether either person is white, black, blue, yellow, pink or orange.
