Art students at Bedwas High School had no need to feel sheepish as they were treated to a model-making workshop with the team behind Wallace and Gromit, Shaun The Sheep, and Morph.
The session with Aardman Animations’ senior model maker, Jim Parkyn, was awarded to Year 11 pupil Molly Morgan, after she won a short film competition.
The Cracking Ideas competition, run by the Intellectual Property Office, aims to inform young people the importance of protecting unique ideas to prevent creations from being copied without credit or compensation.
In celebration of 40 years of Aardman Animations, Molly created an animated short film, highlighting her favourite moments from Aardman’s work.
Daniel Morgan, Head of Year 11 at Bedwas High School said: “We have been aware of Molly’s talents in this area for some time and I was personally thrilled to hear of her winning such a prestigious competition with such an excellent prize attached to it.”
