Gwent Police is appealing for information to locate a dog which was collected from a kennel by a man pretending to be its owner.

The dog, a black cocker spaniel named Preeya, was taken from Gelligaer Dog Kennels in July by a man purporting to be its owner.

Officers know the identity of the man, who has since been interviewed by police, but still do not know the location of the Preeya.

It is believed that the dog was advertised as ‘free to a good home’ on a notice in Pets at Home, and may have been given to a man known as Rob or Robert from the Brynmawr area in September.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of the dog or regarding this incident can contact Gwent Police on 101, quoting log number 443 of 05/10/16 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
