Caerphilly-based housing association United Welsh have donated Christmas presents to children living in refuge, bringing a spark of festive spirit.
United Welsh staff, along with colleagues of Celtic Horizons, donated over 170 gifts for children whose families are being supported by Llamau Women’s Services in Caerphilly.
Wendi Briggs, Refuge Team Leader for Llamau said: “Christmas can be a difficult time of year for families living in refuge.
“The generosity of everyone involved in this donation is so touching and these gifts will certainly help to make Christmas more special for the families we work with.
“We’d like to thank United Welsh and everyone who donated for their overwhelming support.”
The presents were delivered on Friday December 16, and were bought for children of all ages, from babies through to teenagers.
Partnership Management and Compliance Officer for United Welsh, Claire Phillips said: “We’re proud to support Llamau, a charity that works incredibly hard to support families in need all year round.
“We hope the gift donation will help to put a smile on the children’s faces on Christmas day.”
Llamau Women’s Services in Caerphilly are at any time providing refuge and outreach support to over 100 families in the borough.
The College of Biomedical and Life Sciences at Cardiff University and Robert Price Builders Merchants also donated food and gifts to the United Welsh collection.
