Vandals have damaged Bargoed’s new reusable Christmas tree.
Posting news of the damage on social media, the town council said: “It is with sadness and frustration that we have to report that our brand new Christmas tree at the Miners’ Heads area has been vandalised.
“The tree was purchased this year with the intention of using it for many years to come.
“We are now left with a bill to repair this tree.
“We appeal to anyone with information to contact us or the police in confidence.
“We cannot change what’s happened but we ask for your support to ensure that in years to come our community items remain intact.”
