Pupils from Bedwas Junior School have successfully achieved their second Green Flag award in recognition of their environmental efforts.
Headteacher Paul Warren said: “The children of Bedwas Junior School are a credit to their community.
“They act as responsible citizens with a keen interest in local and global environmental issues.
“We are looking forward to developing our programme of environmental education even further over the next 12 months.”
To achieve Green Flag status, schools have to set up an eco committee led by pupils, complete an environmental review of what the school currently does to be more sustainable and draw up a plan for improvement.
The scheme is run by Keep Wales Tidy.
