Welsh flags around the country have been transformed as part of a new cancer awareness campaign.

Skin Care Cymru’s ‘Don’t Be a Lobster’ campaign is highlighting the risks of skin cancer by replacing the famous red dragon with a lobster at 30 landmarks around Wales, including Caerphilly’s Visitor Centre.

Chair of Skin Care Cymru, Paul Thomas, said: “It’s vital that people cover-up in the sun and wear sun cream to help protect themselves against skin cancer.”

Dermatologist Dr Avad Mughal added: “Although Wales is often synonymous with rain, even when the sun isn’t shining, the UV rays can penetrate your skin, heightening the risk of various skin cancers.”
