Some people love to run, many stick to cycling, while others prefer to swim, but a new triathlon club has launched to get people combining all three disciplines.

Caerphilly Tri-ers is an exciting new triathlon club which launched last month, offering both coached and social activities to promote and encourage people to get involved in the sport.

The club, which was set up by six triathlete friends, launched in February and initially aimed to attract ten members in its first year. One month on, the club has taken off with over 40 members already signed up.

Club chairperson, Amy Jenner, said: “I’m really proud with how the club has developed within a short space of time. A lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes to create the first triathlon club in Caerphilly.

“Triathlon can be a lonely sport, and we wanted to create a club for all abilities so members could reach their triathlon goals, whilst having the support from other like-minded athletes.”

Caerphilly Tri-ers run two coached sessions a week, offer coached bike sessions, and hold social group rides on Sundays. On three Saturdays a month, the club holds a session dubbed #SaturdaySquad, each week focussing on a different training aspect.
