A budding darts player is looking forward to a bright future after securing sponsorship from a Caerphilly-based IT company.

Lloyd Arnold, 21, had been seeking sponsorship to help him achieve his goal of competing on the biggest stage by covering travel expenses and helping to purchase equipment. IT service company Tekeez has stepped in to help after seeing Lloyd’s appeal in Caerphilly Observer.

Tekeez co-founder Richard Hillsdown said: “I particularly like darts and we came up with the idea that this is something we could do.

“It seemed a good opportunity for us to do something good for somebody local in Caerphilly. Lloyd’s trying to follow his dream of being a professional darts player, and that’s something we can relate to with our own business and following our own dreams.

“We thought the two of us would work well together.”

Lloyd, from Caerphilly, spoke of his excitement at his future prospects and said: “It means a lot, I haven’t had a sponsor before so it’s going to be something different and I’m looking forward to it.

“It’s certainly going to help me a lot when I go to future tournaments.”

Tekeez and Lloyd have agreed a preliminary year-long deal to cover Lloyd’s entry to the Professional Qualifying School in January 2018.
