A Miss Wales finalist is hosting a fundraising event to promote the empowerment of women.

Molly Absalom, from Caerphilly, is hoping to be crowned Miss Wales in April and will raise money for the competition’s official charity, Beauty With A Purpose, at the event held at Penallta RFC on Thursday March 23 at 6.30pm.

Players and coaches from the club have volunteered to be auctioned off to undertake duties such as dancing, and waiting on successful bidders.

Molly said: “Women should support and encourage each other to do well and succeed in life. All too often we hear women being so critical of themselves rather than standing tall and being proud of all we are capable of.

“I hope that my efforts for the Miss Wales crown are successful but most importantly I hope that I have encouraged and inspired others to aim high and go for whatever it is they wish to achieve.”

Molly recently surprised patients, staff and visitor at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff by handing out daffodils on St David’s Day.
