Railway passengers in Newbridge are being urged to “adopt” the town’s station.

Arriva Trains Wales are looking for volunteers to keep an eye on the railway station as part of its station adoption scheme.

Similar to the neighbourhood watch schemes, “station adopters” can report problems such as litter, graffiti, vandalism or faulty lighting to Arriva Trains Wales.

Geraint Morgan, community relations manager for Arriva Trains Wales, said: “Our station adopters make a significant contribution to ensure unstaffed stations always look their best.

“By going that extra mile, their support helps ensure customers receive a clean, friendly and welcoming environment when arriving at stations.”

To recognise their help, adopters receive an annual issue of rail travel vouchers.

For more information about the scheme visit www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk, call 03333 211 202 or email customer.relations@arrivatrainswales.co.uk.
