Liz Everson

A school governors’ clerk from Machen has been recognised for her work by the body that represents school governors across Wales.

Liz Everson, pictured above, was highly commended in the prestigious Outstanding Clerk Award for Wales, awarded by Governors Wales at its annual conference.

Clerk to governors at 15 schools across South East Wales, judges were impressed with Liz’s strategic approach, detailed action plans and great working relationship with head teachers and chair of governors at the schools she works with.

Liz, who has been a clerk for 17 years, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to be nominated and be part of the awards. This recognition reinforces the excellent work of the Education Achievement Service and its clerking provisions across south Wales.”

Jane Morris, Director of Governors Wales said: “We had many excellent entries which made the judging process particularly difficult, but Liz certainly stood out as a clerk with a passion and understanding for the role.”
