Coleg Gwent students recently travelled to Paris to learn from industry experts in their chosen fields.

Thirty-seven Theatrical and Media Make-Up students from the college’s Crosskeys Campus visited Cité du Cinéma, the ‘French Hollywood’ created by French director, screenwriter and producer Luc Besson.

They were attending a Media Make-Up seminar and workshop at the Make-Up Forever Academy, which specialises in FX, prosthetics and film make up, while two hairdressing students attended a seminar at the Wella Academy in Paris.

Lecturer Paula Stead said: “Experiences such as these highlight the progression and openings that are available within Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Theatrical and Media Make-up whilst giving emphasis to skills which are current in the ever changing demands in industry.

“Also networking opportunities will provide contacts for learners for future employment opportunities.”
