Concrete repairs to a rail bridge in Gilfach are set to take several weeks, Caerphilly County Borough Council has said.

Work has already begun on the bridge, which crosses the Rhymney Valley railway line at Cardiff Road, just north of Lewis School Pengam, and is scheduled to end on July 14.

To ensure safe working, the road is likely to closed during the following times: Monday to Saturday between 11.30pm and 5.30am; Saturday and Sunday between 12.30am and 7.30am. Diversions will be in place during these closures.

Two way traffic lights will operate during the working day, and will be manned during morning and evening rush hours between 7.30am and 9.30am, and once again between 3.30pm and 6.30pm.

Residents with questions can call the council on 01495 235323 or email engineering@caerphilly.gov.uk.
