A driver and their passenger were left uninjured after the car they were travelling in careered off the road near Bedwas Bridge in Caerphilly.

The crash, on the roundabout near Crossways, happened at around 2.45pm on Thursday, June 22.

The white BMW came off the roundabout heading towards Bedwas and left the road just before the bridge and came to a stop in undergrowth.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “At 2.43pm yesterday, we received reports of a single vehicle collision on the A468 in Bedwas. A white BMW had left the road and gone down the embankment.

“There were no major injuries – the driver and a passenger were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.”

A previous version of this article incorrectly stated the time of the accident as 4pm.
