Nominations for the Caerphilly GAVO Volunteer Achievement Awards, which recognises the efforts of volunteers, have opened.

The 2017 Volunteer Awards evening provides an opportunity to recognise local heroes who dedicate their time to helping others and the community.

Volunteers can be nominated into the following categories:

· Young Volunteer

· Trustee Volunteer
· Group Volunteers
· Inspirational Volunteer
· Parent Volunteer of the Year

To be considered for an award, an individual or group of volunteers must carry out their voluntary work within Caerphilly County Borough.

The annual awards ceremony will be hosted later this year at Blackwood Miners’ Institute, to formally recognise volunteers for making a difference in the community.
