A woman from Energlyn who took on a terrifying 10,000ft skydive to raise awareness of brain cancer has gathered more than double her fundraising target.
Nadine Davies plummeted from a plane in the skies above Swansea on Saturday July 29 in memory of her father, who died from the disease aged 54.
Nadine, a veterinary nurse at Valley Vets, said: “My dad was diagnosed with brain cancer in September and passed away in May. It was around three or four months ago that I decided to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity.
“My dad had no symptoms whatsoever until he had a seizure in September, and he died 34 weeks later.”
The 27-year-old managed to raise £2,681 for the charity, having originally set a target of £1,000.
Nadine added: “I am totally overwhelmed by the love and support my family and I have received during one of the toughest times in our lives. I have raised above and beyond what I ever expected and am so grateful.”
