Thirteen products from Peter’s Food Services have been recalled from two supermarket chains over concerns that they may contain fragments of glass.
The Bedwas-based food company has issued an urgent recall on the products from Asda, Lidl and include Peter’s own branded baked goods. A full list of the affected products can be found below.
Peter’s said it decided to remove a batch as a “precaution” due to the potential glass contamination.
Mike Grimwood, managing director at Peter’s Food Service, said: “The company does not believe that any of its products have been affected.
“As consumer safety is our priority, we immediately informed the Food Standards Agency and are working with them and our customers to remove this small batch from point of sale where applicable as a precaution.
“We have taken every step possible to address this matter and we can confirm that no other products produced by Peter’s are affected.”
Customers who believe they may have bought an affected item should not eat it, but return it to where it was bought from for a full refund.
