Residents in Risca are still without their post, nearly three months after the Royal Mail suspended deliveries.
In June, the postal service refused to deliver mail to a number of addresses on Holly Road, Risca, over concerns for the safety of its workers.
Staff alleged that they had been threatened, intimidated, and had objects thrown at them.
A spokesperson for Royal Mail confirmed that deliveries resumed on Monday, September 4, but only to some residents, and on a four-day-a-week basis.
Sally Hopkins said: “We will be monitoring the situation closely and will be undertaking a further risk assessment with the Communication Workers Union (CWU) regarding deliveries to all addresses.
“We will need to assess the situation before any decision can be taken on resuming daily mail deliveries to residents. In the meantime, customers are able to collect mail from our delivery office, or request us to deliver it to an alternative address in the area.
“We continue to work with the CWU and the council to find a way to resume deliveries safely to addresses in Holly Road. One option we have suggested would be for the council to install mail boxes on the ground floors of the blocks of flats.”
A spokesman for Caerphilly County Borough Council added: “The council continues to work with the Royal Mail and we hope this matter can be resolved as soon as possible in the best interests of all concerned.”
