A man who gave his friend two air rifles to look after while his car went in for a valet sparked an armed police response to a Caerphilly supermarket.
At around 5pm on Monday, September 25, armed officers from Gwent Police were called to Asda supermarket on Pontygwindy Road, Caerphilly, after reports that firearms had been spotted.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: “There was a man who wanted to get his car valeted and asked his friend to look after his two air rifles.
“There were several people in the area and it was the exchange of the rifles from one to the other that was reported.
“The air rifles were confiscated by officers and a letter of advice was given. There were no arrests.”
