Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden made a flying visit to her home town of Caerphilly yesterday with dance partner Brian Conley.

The pair did some filming at the Visit Caerphilly Centre in the Twyn, to be shown on the BBC One programme this Saturday, before heading up to the Ystrad Mynach dance centre Shappelles for some practice.

Martin Cook, manager of the Visit Caerphilly Centre, said: “They were both really friendly and Amy was really chuffed to be home.

“Brian was saying he was a bit nervous ahead of this week’s show, where they have to do the Jive, as they have had to do a lot of filming and they hadn’t done as much practice as he would have liked.

“He bought quite a few pieces of Caerphilly Cheese for his family.”
