A funeral directors has been recognised for its excellence by scooping a top industry award.

Caerphilly Funeral Services, based near Crossways Retail Park in Caerphilly, has been named Regional Funeral Planner of the Year for the South Wales Region by leading funeral plan providers Golden Charter.

It was the fifth time the company had been a finalist for the award since 2012, and it is the second time it has won the category which covers directors organising up to 250 funerals a year.

Dean Thomas, of Caerphilly Funeral Services, said: “We are delighted to have won this award for the second time in recent years and it is huge recognition for our hard-working and caring staff.

“Funeral costs are unfortunately rising for people, bringing an increased demand for pre-paid funeral plans. This means these awards are more competitive than ever, and it makes the recognition of our service even more satisfying. We couldn’t be prouder.”

In addition to the award itself, a framed certificate, and cash prize, the Woodland Trust has dedicated trees on behalf of Caerphilly Funeral Services which will be planted locally.

Malcolm Flanders, Golden Charter’s Director of Funeral Director Sales, said: “These highly competitive awards are now in their 24th year and, each year, the standards increase.

“As independent funeral directors continue to set new standards of service, this award is well-earned proof that Caerphilly Funeral Services are among the very best in the profession.”
