A teenager has has died after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a parked car.

The crash on Moriah Street, Rhymney, happened at 3.30am on Sunday, October 22, when an orange Peugeot 206 collided with a parked car.

Both driver and passenger were taken to Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil with serious injuries, where the 17-year-old driver – named by police as Jordan Charles from Rhymney – died.

His family are being supported by specially trained officers, and paid tribute to Jordan: “Jordan was an outgoing boy who had done a lot in his short life and lived it to the full. His family wish to be left alone to grieve together as a family at this time.”

Police said the passenger is still receiving treatment and are appealing for witnesses.
