Thirteen learners who volunteers at an adult day centre in Rhymney have been presented with their qualifications.
At a recent ceremony, Cllr Barbara Jones, deputy leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council handed over certificates which recognise the volunteers’ work at Hafod Deg Resource Centre’s Garden Scheme.
The qualifications were awarded by Adult Learning Wales and accredited by Agored Cymru. They included: Level 1 Health and Safety, Level 1 Using Handtools, Level 1 Community Volunteering, Manual Handling, and Woodwork.
The Garden Scheme and the Men in Sheds project has given more than 80 volunteers the chance to learn new skills and gain experience over the last two-and-half-years.
