Annual Santa Claus tour is coming to a town near you

News | | Published: 14:28, Monday November 27th, 2017.

He’s making a list and checking it twice – Santa Claus is coming to town.

Every year the Rotary Club of Machen organises a tour for old St Nick around the streets of the Caerphilly town basin area and this year is no exception.

Tudor Jones, from the Rotary Club of Machen, explained: “Our Santa Claus’ sleigh has toured the area for over 20 years at Christmas time, in the process raising many thousands of pounds for local and international good causes.

“This year’s Rotary Santa will start his tour on Monday, November 27, and will continue until Saturday, December 23.

“He and his faithful Rotary helpers, assisted by the stalwarts of Machen RFC, will cover the area from Rhiwderin to Bedwas and will include several parts of Caerphilly including Castle Court Shopping Centre, Penyrheol and Trecenydd.

“Look out for the Rotary sleigh with its flashing lights and Christmas music.”
