The chairman of Procter Bros, a specialist manufacturer of machine guarding, concrete and fencing products and architectural cast stone, has won a prestigious regional business award at this year’s EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.

Jeremy Proctor won the Leadership Award, sponsored by Liberty House Group, which celebrates the achievements of outstanding manufacturing leaders and the significant contribution they make to their business and UK manufacturing.

Mr Proctor was selected by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics after impressing them with his experience, passion and drive which has contributed to continuing success of Procter’s, with over 275 years of trading.

With the regional title now secured, Mr Proctor will now go on to find out if he has won the national title at an awards gala dinner in London in January next year.

Jeremy Procter, Chairman of Bedwas-based Procter Bros, said: “Manufacturers work hard to ensure the success of their business, so I am honoured to have been recognised in this way.

“We have been through some tough times over my 25 years at the helm, including recessions and unprecedented changes in technology, and have survived them all. This award is not about individual effort though, it is for all the hard-working and talented people that have contributed to our continued success, without whom this achievement would not have been possible.”

On top of the success for its chairman, Proctor Bros apprentice Rae Goman, 19, took silver in the Business Apprentice First Year Award.
Ms Goman said: “I’m only at the very start of my career in manufacturing marketing, so to receive silver at these awards is a real boost and will motivate me even more.”

    Congratulations and well done !
Once again it’s nice to see a local business showing they are at the forefront and competing with the best in the UK.
