A Bedwas-based firm that specialises in second-hand aeroplanes and parts ,is set for further growth after securing a contract with airline BA Cityflyer.

The company has experienced huge growth in recent years and is often named in lists of the fastest-growing companies.

Most recently it was ranked the fastest-growing aerospace and defence company in Europe by the Financial Times’ FT1000.

For the year to December 31, 2017, sales passed £67.1m, up from £63.5m the year before.

In May last year the company bought 15 Embraer 175 aircraft from Saudi Arabian Airlines, which led to the BA CityFlyer contract.

James Bennett, Director for Sales and Marketing, said: “When we look at 2019 to 2023, we want to see more of our business under some form of long-term contractual support programme.

“The contract we secured with BA CityFlyer a few months back is going to be the springboard for us.

“We acquired the 15 Embraer 175s last year, and each of those aircraft will either be leased back into the market or sold. Or in some cases disassembled so we can have component support programmes going into airlines.

“It’s a really huge statement, that BA CityFlyer have moved away from the original engine manufacturer, and they’re putting their trust for their entire fleet of Embraer 170s and E190s with Aerfin.

“It’s a big statement for us, and I’m sure we’ll capitalise on it with more of those types of programmes as we move into the future.”
