Murder inquiry launched after man’s body found in Elliots Town

Three people have been arrested as part of a murder probe.

Detectives launched their investigation after a man’s body was found in a flat in Elliots Town, near New Tredegar.

Police attended an address in Long Row at 3pm yesterday, Saturday, August 4.

Officers found the body of a 54-year-old who has been identified as a local man.

In a statement, Gwent Police said: “The family of the deceased man have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers.

“The cause of death has yet to be established and this will be determined following a post mortem.

“We are currently treating the death as suspicious and have now launched a murder investigation.

“Enquiries are ongoing and officers are asking for anyone who may have information regarding this incident to please ring 101.”

Two men, aged 23 and 51, from the New Tredegar area and another man, aged 47, from the Aberbargoed area have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody.
