Caerphilly County Borough Council staff have donated hundreds of food items to food banks within the county.

The donated items were collected as part of the council’s ‘Operation Foodbank’ and presented to food banks in Blackwood and the Upper Rhymney Valley at Ty Penallta on Friday, August 17.

The council’s Deputy Leader, Barbara Jones, said: “I would like to say thanks to everyone at Caerphilly County Borough Council who generously contributed this year to our food bank collection.

“As a council we are dedicated in making sure our local food banks are supported and I look forward to seeing the results each year.”
