The family of a missing father from Bargoed have appealed for information to help locate him.

Howard Butts, of Heol Cardoc, left home at around 5.25pm on Sunday, August 19, and has not been seen by his family since.

The  64-year-old suffers from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, a chronic lung condition, and left his home without his medication or any other possessions.

Michele Jones, Mr Butts’ sister-in-law, confirmed that a group of volunteers from Bargoed have been conducting searches for Mr Butts.

Ms Jones said: “His family are devastated. His wife and step-daughters just desperately want to know he is okay and want him to come home.”

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for information to locate 64-year-old Howard Butts who has been reported as missing.

“Howard is described as 5ft 7in tall, of slim build, with short black hair and a scar on his left cheek. He was last seen wearing a navy blue hooded cardigan, blue jeans and black tie up trainers.

“Anyone with information relating to Howard’s whereabouts is asked to call 101, quoting log 52 of 20/08/18.”
