A butcher’s shop in Risca has thanked its generous customers for donating 417 Easter eggs to children at Ty Hafan, Velindre Cancer Centre, the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr in Ystrad Mynach.
Each year Howard’s Butchers, in Commercial Street, collects the eggs from kind-hearted customers.
Chris Powell, of Howard’s Butchers, said: “The customers themselves start the collection each year. A gentleman called Steve Smith comes in just after Christmas each year with two eggs to get the ball rolling.
“We’d like to thank all of our customers for their help and support.”
