Falklands war veteran Simon Weston has relocated his security management business to Oakdale Business Park.

Mr Weston, who is originally from Nelson, and business partner Paul Hartshorn have moved Weston FM Group from Pontypool to its new location.

The company is leasing a business property on One Foxes Lane from Caerphilly County Borough Council.

The business was founded in 2013 and specialises in security, mobile patrol and alarm response, alarm and CCTV monitoring, fire protection systems and commercial cleaning.

Mr Weston, who is a director of the company, said: “Relocating to Oakdale Business Park places us at the centre of Caerphilly County Borough, and we are looking forward to expanding our business in the county which is home to many successful businesses, some of whom are already clients of Weston Group.”

The council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for economy, Cllr Sean Morgan, visited the the business alongside the council’s interim-chief executive Christina Harrhy.

Cllr Morgan, who represents Nelson, said: “It really was a pleasure to visit Simon, Paul and the team to see their impressive business operation first hand, and we’re delighted that they’ve chosen Caerphilly County Borough as their place to do business.

“Oakdale Business Park is a key strategic site and we’re very pleased to have such a prestigious business as Weston FM Group; a business that prides itself on integrity and professionalism, as a tenant at one of our business units. I wish them every success for the future.”

Mr Hartshorn, who is also a director of the company, said: “It is good to share the vision and commitment that Christina and Sean have for the county borough and we are looking forward to being part of that success.”
