Cannabis plants seized after police raid in Bargoed

A large amount of cannabis was seized from a property in Bargoed on Tuesday, July 9

More than 200 cannabis plants have been seized from a property in Bargoed after a police raid on Tuesday, July 9.

The property, on Gilfach Street, was raided at around 12pm by Gwent Police with a warrant executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The operation was led by the police’s Bargoed Neighbourhood Team with specialist officers.

The cannabis plants will be sent for forensic examination and identification.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “All drugs seized will now be sent away for forensic examination and identification.

“The premises was unoccupied at the time and enquiries are currently ongoing.”
