A 20-year-old man was stabbed in the hand when he was mugged near Pontygwindy Road, Caerphilly.
The victim, who is from Trethomas, was walking through a nearby footpath with a 21-year-old friend when two men approached them and demanded their belongings.
The victim’s bag, which contained his mobile phone and wallet, was stolen during the attack.
The 21-year-old man, who is also from Trethomas, was unharmed during the attack.
The mugging happened at around 3.30pm on Monday, July 22.
The attackers allegedly used a kitchen knife to stab the victim, who was treated at the scene by paramedics.
One of the attackers is said to have been wearing a balaclava.
A 16-year-old boy from the Penyrheol area, who was arrested on suspicion of robbery, has since been released under investigation.
