A manager of a care home in Bedwas has received an award for saving a woman’s life after her heart suddenly stopped.
Lianne Hargreaves of Parklands care home has been given a Kindness in Care Award after performing CPR on the woman, who lives at the care home.
Ms Hargreaves said her actions were “simply my first instinct”.
She added: “I was delighted to receive my Kindness in Care award as this will be a lifelong reminder of the difference we make to residents’ lives here at Parklands.”
The awards, run by care home group HC-One, aim to recognise staff for the impact they have on the lives of residents and their loved ones.
Caroline Price, area quality director of HC-One, nominated Ms Hargreaves for the award after finding out about her heroic actions.
Ms Price said: “Lianne always goes the extra mile for everyone in her care and this award reflects how her kind and caring nature has made a truly life-changing impact to those living in her care.
“Life at Parklands truly wouldn’t be the same without Lianne, she is exactly what HC-One is all about.”
