Two Caerphilly-based businesses have been awarded for the work they do in Human Resources and ‘people development’.
Welsh Water, which has its headquarters in Nelson, and Creditsafe, which is based on Caerphilly Business Park, received the honours at the CIPD Wales Awards, which were held at Cardiff City Hall.
Welsh Water won the best apprenticeship scheme award, while Creditsafe scooped the best employee engagement initiative award.
The awards, which were hosted by former Countdown host Carol Vorderman, were judged by a panel of HR and business professionals.
Tara Williams, talent development advisor at Welsh Water, said: “This award recognizes the hard work of all our workforce who do a great job of investing time into developing our apprentices. We are delighted to be recognized for our work that is so important to futureproofing the business.”
Lesley Richards, Head of CIPD Wales, said: “This is our third year of the Wales awards and it’s amazing to see the passion and professionalism for the industry. The awards recognise and celebrate the companies and individuals driving HR practices and we were once again delighted by the number and quality of entries, and the dedication to people development that has been showcased.
“HR and people development affect the success and operation of every business and are essential to ensuring employee wellbeing and retaining the best talent. All of tonight’s individuals, businesses and organisations have proven they maximise the utmost potential and opportunities for their employees.”
