A young woman with secondary breast cancer has donated her hair to Little Princess Trust and raised more than £1,100 for the charity.

Sherrie Deacon, 27, from Caerphilly, was diagnosed with the condition, which cannot be cured, in October.

Sherrie is hoping to to raise awareness of young women who are battling cancer.

Sherrie’s sister, Chantelle Deacon, said that Sherrie is always putting other people before herself.

“She’s always been that type of person. She’s always wanted to do something for other people,” said Chantelle.

“She’s taking her diagnosis in her stride. She’s still going into work at HMRC each day.

“It’s amazing to watch her being so strong – she’s an inspiration to all of us.”

Little Princess Trust is a charity that provides free wigs made of real hair to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer.

Sherrie’s family are hoping to raise money to send her on a dream holiday to Japan.

Chantelle said: “She’s an amazing person. We’re thinking about raising money for her to go to Japan over the next couple of months.

“She’s always loved Japan and this has made her want to go even more.

“We are raising money for her as Sherrie is the most loving person we have ever met.”
