Flooding at the Welsh Government offices in Bedwas

A series of advice and support sessions will be held across Caerphilly County Borough for people affected by Storm Dennis.

The storm, which hit south Wales over the weekend, caused widespread flooding and damage.

The sessions are being run by Caerphilly Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB).

From 2pm to 5pm today (Wednesday, February 19), an advice session will take place at Deri Library.

On Thursday, February 20, two sessions will be held – the first at Ystrad Mynach Library from 9.30am to 1pm, and the second at Abercarn Library from 2pm to 5pm.

On Friday, February 21, CAB will be giving advice at Llanbradach Library from 9.30am to 1pm, before heading to Machen Village Hall from 3pm to 6pm.

Meanwhile, people affected by the flooding may be able to claim an Emergency Assistance Payment (EAP) from Welsh Government.

The EAP is a grant which helps with essential costs following an emergency. The payment can help cover the cost of food, gas, electricty, clothing and emergency travel.
