A kebab shop in Abertridwr has been crowned the ‘Best Kebab House in Wales’ at the British Kebab Awards.
Sam’s Grill House, which is on Thomas Street, picked up the award at a ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London on Tuesday, March 3.
Sam’s Grill House manager Callie Jones, who attended the ceremony alongside owner Sami Kardar, said: “We’re very happy to win. We want to thank all our customers for their support and our staff, who we couldn’t have done it without.”
Ms Jones also thanked Aber Valley councillors Lyndon Binding and John Roberts for their support.

Charcoal Grill in Caerphilly and Erhan’s Charcoal Grill in Ystrad Mynach were among the nominees for the award, as was Abertridwr’s Wales Kebab, which won the award last year.
The awards were hosted by radio presenters Scott Mills and Chris Stark.
More than 1,200 guests including more than 110 MPs and Lords attended the event, including outgoing Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
British Kebab Awards founder, Ibrahim Dogus, said: “The kebab is an unsung cornerstone of high streets across the country, and the simply superb quality of this year’s entries shows that British small businesses can more than compete on a world stage of cuisine.”
