Illegal tree felling across Caerphilly County Borough has been condemned by the council.

Caerphilly County Borough Council said it is aware of trees that have been cut down illegally in Caerphilly, Hendredenny, Abertidwr, Llanbradach, Hengoed, Blackwood, Crumlin, Croespenmaen and Ynysddu.

In a statement, the council said: “This is particularly worrying as we are in the height of bird nesting season, and in recent months we have seen our wildlife flourish and this unlawful act could have seen birds lose their nests and perish.

Environmentalists praise council’s grass cutting approach

“Unauthorised felling is illegal and can pose a danger to public safety if it is not done safely and the materials are not disposed of correctly.”

Residents can contact the council to ask for maintenance works such as pruning back trees and bushes encroaching onto their property, or the removal of unsafe trees and bushes.

Illegal tree felling can be reported to the council on 01443 863428.

Inaction action of Caerphilly Council on known illegal tree felling is another we the constituents should worry about with the running of our borough by this lack of positivity.
Time for change in the next elections and put a more younger dynamic set of councillors who have the energy and not the lethargic living in the past that we seem to have at the moment .
Professionalism and drive are not dirty words , though for some it maybe as those rocking chairs are very comfortable.
