No new coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in Wales, according to figures from Public Health Wales.

The announcement was made on Monday (July 6), marking the first 24-hour period without a death linked to Covid-19 in Wales since March 19.

The current number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in Wales is 1,531, with 275 deaths recorded in Gwent.

The number of new cases of Covid-19 has risen by eight – but none of these new cases are in Caerphilly County Borough or Gwent.

It takes the total number of confirmed cases in Wales to 15,898.

It comes on the same day the five-mile travel limit guidance was lifted and outdoor visitor attractions were reopened in Wales.

However, weekly statistics from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which include all registered deaths, including those in care homes, have yet to be revealed.
