A long distance lorry driver was snared by online paedophile hunters when he arranged to meet what he thought was a teenage girl in Caerphilly.

Graham Styles, 57, drove from Kent to Kwik Fit on Pontygwindy Road in May 2018 after spending months messaging ‘girls’ online.

Using several different identities, which were all traced back to him, Styles thought he was messaging seven girls aged between 12 and 14.

In fact, they were adults posing as children to catch online predators.

Styles, who had sent explicit sexual messages as well as photographs of himself, was later arrested.

At Cardiff Crown Court, he admitted seven counts of attempting to sexually communicate with a child and two of attempting a child to engage in sexual activity.

He had initially been due to stand trial but changed his pleas.

Styles, who had previously appeared at magistrates’ court in a pair of striking white shoes, was jailed for 18 months.

He was described by Judge Daniel Williams as “every parent’s worst nightmare”.
