No new deaths related to coronavirus have been recorded in Wales, Public Health Wales announced today (Friday, July 10).

It is the second time this week that Public Health Wales data showed no Covid-19 deaths during a 24-hour period.

Ten new cases of the virus were reported on Friday, taking the total number of cases in Wales to 15,939.

The figures were released on the day First Minister Mark Drakeford announced plans to further relax lockdown restrictions in Wales.

Wales’ coronavirus death toll stands at 1,540, with two deaths recorded on Thursday, four on Wednesday, three on Tuesday and none on Monday.

As of Thursday (June 9), 723 cases had been recorded in Caerphilly County Borough.

However, Public Health Wales data can be changed retrospectively.

Meanwhile, The Office for National Statistics (ONS) releases weekly figures, which include all registered deaths, including those in care homes.

The ONS figures showing the number of coronavirus-linked deaths this week will be published on Tuesday, July 14.
