An electric car charging up

Non-electric cars have been banned from parking in off-street electric vehicle charging bays.

New measures introduced by Caerphilly County Borough Council mean only electric vehicles will be able to park in the bays.

The rules will only apply to council-run car parks.

The charging points were set up in car parks across the borough earlier this year.

Council pass ‘climate emergency’ motion

The charging points are able to charge between 7kW and 22kW.

The project was delivered by a partnership between Caerphilly County Borough Council and the other Gwent Councils – Newport, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen and Monmouthshire.

Caerphilly Town Council made a financial contribution towards the charging points being installed at the Twyn car park.
