New skate parks have opened in Graig y Rhacca and Porset Park, Caerphilly town.
The skate parks have been funded through a £469,000 contract awarded to Caerphilly County Borough Council.
The council is investing in the skate parks as part of its Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS) programme, which the council said is seeing £260m invested into improving council housing throughout the borough, as well as projects in the wider community.
The total cost of each skate park was initially £80,000, with the WHQS programme funding £70,000 and the council providing the remaining £10,000.
During the construction of the skate park in Porset Park, the council’s parks team provided an additional £18,000 towards the scheme.
Skate parks are also set to open in Bargoed, Penllwyn,Phillipstown and Rhymney.
Councillor Lisa Phipps, the council’s cabinet member for homes and places, said: “We have worked closely with the local community on the plans for these skate parks, so it is great to see these plans come to life.
“These skate parks will encourage residents to keep physically active, improving the health and wellbeing of our local communities.”
