Caerphilly County Borough has marked Remembrance Sunday upon the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic.

Services across the borough were cancelled, with Remembrance Sunday falling within Wales’ 17-day firebreak lockdown, which has now ended.

As a result, indoor services were not be permitted, while outdoor services were restricted to a maximum of 30 people, including organisers.

However, residents were still able to pay their respects by laying wreaths at cenotaphs and memorials.

A two-minute silence was held at 11am on Remembrance Sunday (November 8), with many people standing at their doorsteps to take part.
