Caerphilly-based ventilation firm Nuaire has revealed plans to double its manufacturing capacity – with the hope that new jobs could be on the horizon.

The company, which this year is celebrating its 50th anniversary operating in Caerphilly, has said it is confident of future growth – to the extent that it has bought the former Premier Trade Frames factory opposite its Western Industrial Estate base, which closed last year.

The company has not disclosed how much it has spent on the new premises.

Wayne Glover, Managing Director of Nuaire, said: “Although 2020 has been a tough year for our industry, we haven’t shied away from investment into new product development, our people, the latest technology or our manufacturing facilities. By taking a long-term approach to investment we have created a solid foundation on which to build our future.”

He added: “By making such a significant investment at a time of such uncertainty, we are not only demonstrating our confidence in Nuaire’s future growth, but we are taking a big step forward in consolidating our position as a market leader within the ventilation industry.

“We were fast outgrowing our current site, and we hope our continued success will lead to increased job creation and opportunities in the near future.”

Established in 1966, Nuaire provides a full range of energy-efficient domestic, commercial and renewable ventilation solutions.

Based at Caerphilly’s Western Industrial Estate and Bedwas’ Pantglas Industrial Estate, the firm employs around 500.

It was sold in 2015 for £145 million to the Doncaster-based Polypipe group.
