Why we do what we do.
Caerphilly Observer was started more than ten years ago with one simple objective – to provide a first-class local news service that Caerphilly County Borough deserves.
For the last ten years, we have provided an award-winning, balanced, and independent news service to residents.
We believe the public should be informed about their community, coherently and with context. From the pay scandal at Caerphilly County Borough Council to concerns at the lack of personal protection equipment at our hospital, we have covered the issues that matter.
However, running a professional news service comes at a financial cost.
Caerphilly Observer is predominantly funded through advertising, and while this has supported us in the past, the future economic outlook in light of the coronavirus outbreak looks bleak.
While the ad-supported print edition of Caerphilly Observer will still be free to pick up from outlets across the county borough, we are asking readers for their support to help us develop and grow our service.
For just £60 a year, readers can sign up for a print subscription + membership.
Every fortnight you will receive a copy of our print edition in the post and you'll also be able to experience our website without any adverts. You'll also receive our daily email newsletter.
