Missing Bargoed man found

A missing 31-year-old Bargoed man has been found safe and well after going missing on Sunday October 18.

Phillip Watts was last seen at his home in Gilfach Street, Bargoed, at about 11am.

Gwent Police have not said where or how Mr Watts was found.

Senghenydd bids for historic watch

Villagers from Senghenydd will be hoping for success at an auction today as they bid on a historic watch.

Presented in 1923 to Llew Jenkins, the first rugby player from Senghenydd to be capped for Wales, the watch and chain was a gift from his fellow villagers.

The items are being auctioned later today at Bonhams in Chester and villagers have clubbed together to try and bring them back home for display by the Aber Valley Heritage Group.

Caerphilly firm Catnic, based on the Pontypandy Industrial Estate, has won a national marketing award.

The building products was one of five winners at the Canmol: Wales Marketing Awards, organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Barry Jenkins, marketing manager at Catnic, said: “Winning a Canmol Award is an excellent opportunity to showcase the success of our marketing campaign and to boost Catnic’s company profile.”
